Growing up in a household that valued music, it was no surprise that DJ Heavy developed a passion for DJs from Philadelphia, such as Cosmic Kev, Doc B, Jazzy Jeff, and DJ AM. His love for music led him to create his own unique style, edits, and mixing techniques. In 2009, Clear Channel recruited him to join the WSNX 104.5 Mixin' Mafia team, where he quickly gained popularity in Chicago clubs and on Twitch.
